maqview software package provides graphical read alignment viewer for short gene sequences, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install maqview
maqview is installed in your system.
Make ensure the maqview package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep maqview *
You will get with maqview package name, version, architecture and description in a table
